D-Day looms for embattled Nixon

The Ricky Nixon saga will continue to dominate AFL headlines this week as clubs finalise preparations for the opening round.
The prominent player agent has until Thursday to respond to a damning verdict from the AFL Players’ Association accreditation board – the same day as the first game between Carlton and Richmond.
The board last week provisionally suspended Nixon after finding a prima facie case that he acted dishonestly, unprofessionally and without integrity.
Nixon’s lawyer asked for an eight-day extension on Thursday’s deadline but it was denied.
The findings relate to Nixon’s confessed “inappropriate dealings” with the teenage girl at the centre of the St Kilda nude photos scandal.
He has denied the girl’s allegation that they had sex.
St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt, Nixon’s highest-profile client, was caught up in the photo scandal.
Nixon remains in a South Australian rehabilitation clinic, being treated for a substance abuse problem.
He could try to go to the courts or appeal to the AFL grievance tribunal if stripped of his accreditation.
There is continuing speculation about the future of clients of Nixon’s company, Flying Start.
Apart from Riewoldt, Western Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade and Carlton counterpart Brett Ratten are also in the Flying Start stable.
Another issue arising from Nixon’s problems are whether the AFL should have a greater role in player agent accreditations.
The league and the AFLPA have come under fire for how they responded to the explosive allegations the teenager made.

All this voyeuristic prurient interest in the girl’s looks detracts from the central issue of why the AFL tolerates the breach of it’s own Child Protection Policy 2009, which along with the AFL Code of Conduct, enshrined the AFL Membership Policy, tells us that the more things change under Demetrious’ watch, the more they stay the same.

the reason there was so much legal action is because one of the suppressed photos showed one of the players performing oral sex on another.supposedly one of those photos is the first of a series leading up to the climax.if you know anyone who works at a tv station or newspaper,ask them as they are being shared privately.the girl apparently sent all the photos to all the media outlets,thats why the original story of the miami hotel room quietly went away
