No end in sight for dollar’s dream run
THE red-hot Aussie dollar is powering towards $US1.10 — and is tipped to climb as high as $US1.12 in coming months.
Propelled by further aggressive selling of the US currency amid fears for the US economy, the Aussie stormed to $US1.0775 yesterday afternoon.
With the greenback on the nose and heightened global inflation concerns, investors also pushed the price of gold to a new high yesterday after the precious metal broke through the $US1500 mark on Wednesday.
The traditional “safe-haven” asset rose to $US1508.8 an ounce, and, like the Aussie, its dream run is expected to continue.
“It’s got little in the way of resistance,” said ANZ head of commodities research Mark Pervan.
AMP Capital Investors chief economist Shane Oliver said the Aussie dollar could reach his year-end forecast of $US1.10 in the next few weeks.

Commonwealth Bank chief currency strategist Richard Grace said the Aussie “certainly will go higher” over the next few months, and could go as high as $US1.12, though risks included high oil prices challenging the global growth outlook and triggering a fall in commodity prices.
“If you think about it, in percentage terms, it’s not very far away. Less than 5 per cent, so it’s very achievable,” he said.
Westpac senior currency strategist Sean Callow said it was difficult to predict exactly how far the dollar might climb.
But he said: “I think you’d be mad to be brushing off any suggested levels. When the Aussie has risen more than 2c in a day then the demand is clearly very powerful.”

This girl makes Paris Hilton look like an angel. The crap that comes out of her mouth is unbelievable. She would also be as wide as the grand canyon down there, you’d never touch the side if you went there…..
This picture of her is now doing the rounds….
Spoiler:
She now claims she wont release the other 19 photos until later in the week as she doenst want to get in trouble breaching the federal court order… Could it possibly be that she doenst actually have anymore photos!!!!
I quote “I dont want to be known as the StKilda Schoolgirl or The Slut, I want to be known as the girl who had a freedom speech, who did something about it. I just dont want to be swept under the carpet anymore”- Kim Isabella Duthie….
WELL GUESS WHAT YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE REMEMBERED AS THE STKILDA SCHOOLGIRL SLUT WHORE SKANK.
Also this is how classy she is: http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/polic … 194ib.html Putting two & two together this is also the same girl. On her facebook she had pctures of her and a cop, photos of her wearing a cops hat and shirt…

She copped it from the supporters there. She must really want to get sued, as if she releases a book and thinks she will profit from it then i think she is very much mistaken. The club will go hard if she does, but if she just leaves it as it is now and floats away somewhere then they might just leave it alone. She said she appeared there just so she could get into the news again so here “strory” doesnt disappear.

“She also revealed she was writing, with her manager, the last two chapters of a book.”
Sounds like it’ll be a pretty boring read up until then, and surely it would be easier to use a pencil?

St Kilda schoolgirl follows Nixon to Pt Lonsdale
Alex Oates | April 10th, 2011
Ricky Nixon.
RICKY Nixon’s sex scandal nightmare followed him to his Point Lonsdale retreat yesterday in a bizarre televised twist.
The suspended AFL player manager’s hideaway was anything but when the so-called St Kilda schoolgirl, Kim Duthie, and a female friend, led television camera crews to the coast, where they filmed the 17-year-old stripping down to a bra and G-string in the middle of the street.
A camera crew from Channel 7′s Sunday Night, which last night aired a special on the troubled teen and her involvement with Nixon, captured footage of the girl changing out of oversized clothes she reportedly bought in the town’s main street op-shop. Some suggested the outfit had been a disguise, as Nixon claimed the girl was shadowing him and had inundated him with text messages.
The town was abuzz as the drama unfolded yesterday.
“She was with a girlfriend, and she stripped down to her bra and changed clothes with her friend,” said David Osborne, who owns local eatery Kelp.
“My head chef was sitting down having lunch in the alcove area and he was reading the paper and the girls just stripped down to their underwear.
“The other times she came in she had purchased a beanie, or some sort of knitted hat, and large sunglasses. She was in the cafe three times.”
Duthie spent Saturday night at Queenscliff’s Royal Hotel, although owner Steve Wilson said he knew nothing of her brief stay.
“We had a full house and I wouldn’t know her if I saw her,” Mr Wilson said.
In Channel 7′s special, Ms Duthie mother Susan reported receiving death threats while father Tony denounced Nixon for admitting he had “inappropriate dealings” with his daughter.
Mr Duthie said he hds only contempt for Nixon, who the girl claims had sex with her and offered her cocaine.
Despite speculation the girl was following Nixon, police reported no complaints, Leading Senior Constable Steve Hutchison of Queenscliff police said.
The camera crews, however, filmed Nixon’s mobile phone history, which showed numerous calls, allegedly from the teen, throughout yesterday afternoon.
The teenager was filmed taking a lie detector test while being asked whether she had lied about having a sexual relationship with Nixon. The polygraph results suggested she had not.
Nixon has denied having a sexual relationship with her. Ms Duthie reportedly showed up to his Point Lonsdale retreat at least three times over the weekend demanding to speak to him.
Nixon refused to discuss the matter with the Geelong Advertiser, drawing the curtains closed on his glass sliding doors and ordering us to leave.
“You’re on private property, you have 20 seconds to leave or I’m calling the police,” he said.
Earlier in the weekend, Nixon watched the Coutas play Newcomb in round one of the BFL season at the Queenscliff Recreation Reserve.
“He’s a couple of years older than me and just the thought of a man behaving in that manner with my daughter, with possibly drugs and sex and whatever else happened, is just unbelievable,” Mr Duthie told Channel 7.
“If it’s found to be proven (he deserves) probably jail time for what he’s done.”
Despite speculation the girl was stalking Nixon, police reported no complaints, Leading Senior Constable Steve Hutchison of Queenscliff police said. The camera crew however filmed Nixon’s mobile phone history which showed numerous calls from the teen throughout yesterday afternoon.
The teenager was filmed taking a lie detector test while being asked if whether she had lied about her sexual relationship with Nixon. The polygraph test concluded she had not.
Nixon has denied having a sexual relationship with the girl, but reported Kim showed up to his Point Lonsdale retreat at least three times over the weekend demanding to speak to him.
The scandal divided opinions in Point Lonsdale, with some locals springing to Nixon’s defence.
“I feel for Ricky. She has done nothing but try to bring him down,” said one woman anonymously.
Others had no sympathy for the disgraced agent.
“He’s brought a lot of this on himself,” another man said.

Schoolgirl photo circulated to AFL players
Schoolgirl photo circulated to AFL players
A photograph of a Melbourne schoolgirl who fell pregnant after allegedly having sex with two St Kilda football players is being circulated to other AFL players.
The email, which is also circulating various government departments, contains a photograph of two girls wearing cut-off St Kilda guernseys, The Age reported.

READ MORE: Players linked to pregnancy
One of the girls is identified as the 17-year-old who claimed she had sex with two St Kilda players and fell pregnant to one of them.
Also being forwarded is a digitally altered image of the movie poster for Three Men and a Baby, with the actors’ heads substituted for the footballers allegedly involved.
The schoolgirl went to police after her alleged sexual encounter was revealed on Facebook.
The Age said the emails had been sent to current and former St Kilda players, people at the AFL Players’ Association and staff at a number of government departments.
The girl, who currently attends a Melbourne high school, said she first met the players at a children’s football clinic.
St Kilda Football Club was informed of the pregnancy after the girl’s principal learned of the situation.
Club officials have held a meeting with the players, who reportedly claimed they did not recall first meeting the girl at the clinic.

Saints’ teen: track star who took a wrong turn
The 17-year-old at the centre of the AFL nude photo scandal walks into the Federal Court on Friday, flanked by her lawyers. Photo: Simon O’Dwyer
SHE has a small love heart tattooed on her inner left wrist, with the words: “Sucess [sic] is the best revenge” – deliberately misspelt, she reckons, because everyone has imperfections.
The marks on her right wrist tell a different tale: five horizontal scars from cuts she gave herself during a drunken night in August, she says, after being spurned by the St Kilda football player she still loves.
On the one hand, she seems the vulnerable 17-year-old victim of men with money and fame. On the other, her tattoo points to a woman scorned. Who she is depends on which side you take.
Advertisement: Story continues below
Arriving at Melbourne Airport last Thursday night and stepping into the firestorm she sparked last Monday by releasing nude photographs of Saints players Nick Riewoldt and Nick Dal Santo, she is a little of both.
Her parents have had enough. They catch a bus and leave her at the airport. She returns to the terminal to court the media scrum in a short black dress. Despite her saying that she has been crying, her makeup – blue eyeshadow, red lips – is still perfect. Does she feel like a victim? “Umm, I did, but since I released these photos I feel it’s a sort of 50-50 situation,” she says.
“In a way I still feel a victim to what they’ve done to me, but now I feel like in a way they’re being portrayed as victims as well because I’ve released photos of them and breached their privacy in a sense.”
On Christmas Eve she is ordered by the Federal Court to hand over the nude photographs and destroy any copies in her possession.
Justice Shane Marshall orders that her name be suppressed: “If the court can’t protect the children what can it do?” In person, she has a child’s charms and faults. She is contrary, naive, vain, full of bluster but vulnerable, a lone teen on the wrong side of the biggest game in town. It’s hard to know if she’s telling the truth.
Late night at the airport, with the media pack dispersed, she stands alone smoking a cigarette. We share a taxi into the city, where she will stay the night with a friend.
Between answering prank calls on her phone, she says she is scared by what’s ahead of her. “I don’t really think about the future . . . because obviously it’s not looking very good.”
In a newspaper article last year, she spoke of her success in athletics and her dream of winning a sports scholarship to study in the United States.
This year, she says, she went “off the rails” and has been arrested several times for shoplifting, drug use, assault and trespass. She escaped each charge without conviction, she says, and felt invincible.
“I don’t even know what happened; it’s just like I woke up one day and decided to be like that,” she says.
“It would start off with getting a fake ID or smoking or going out to nightclubs. I was doing sort of glamour modelling as well and I liked that life because for about seven years all I was doing was running. I had never been out before, I didn’t really have that many friends and I was sort of, in a way, sheltered from the real world — it was basically eat, sleep and train.
“Then I had a taste of that lifestyle and even more when I met the AFL players . . . It gives you that sort of buzz being around them . . . I just couldn’t step it down from being up that high.”
In the end, it was the sport that brought her down, she says. “I think they treat girls pathetically. It’s not right at all.”
She was 16 when, in February, several Saints players visited her high school in Melbourne’s south-east for a community event. A month later, she was at an athletics meeting in Sydney when the Saints beat the Swans at home. She waited with a friend by the change rooms after the game to see the players.
“They didn’t even question my age from the start because they recognised me from the school clinic. When we went back to the hotel room, [they asked] how old I was and I said ‘I’ll be 17 in a few months’ and they were like, ‘Oh, yeah, OK, that’s legal,’ ” she says.
Two St Kilda players were later cleared by police and the AFL of any wrongdoing.
Later, she says, she started seeing defender Sam Gilbert. “It made me feel like I was this really special girl who had sort of just been in the right place at the right time.
“I felt really, I don’t know, kind of cool in front of my friends . . . but after a while, after everything had happened, I realised I never want to be in that world again; it’s awful.”
In April, she says, she fell pregnant with twins but miscarried both. When the news broke, Gilbert wouldn’t return her texts or calls, she says. “To anyone who has been in love you can hate them so much but then, at the end of the day, you realise you still love them,” she says.
“The doctors blamed the first miscarriage on stress. I was going through such a hard time with being called a slut and everyone making out I had slept with half of the AFL . . . I got to the point where I was having to take anti-depressants and sleeping tablets at night.
“I was not sleeping for days on end. I would just sit up on my laptop reading article after article about myself. I was just so obsessed with wanting to know what the world was saying about me and trying to defend myself at the same time.”
She carries around newspaper cuttings on herself and posts regular updates to her 12,000 Twitter followers.
“She loves the spotlight, she watches every single news bulletin to see how she looks,” says someone she has spent a lot of time with recently. “Whether that was the driving force behind it, I don’t know.”
Carolyn Worth, convenor of Victorian Centres Against Sexual Assault, says the teenager does not fit the typical profile of a sexual assault victim.
“I think she perceives herself as a victim of the AFL. It looks as though she feels she has come up against a large corporate entity that basically worked her over and treated her with disrespect,” she says. “I think she’s more working as a woman scorned. It’s a bit like ‘fight or flight’; she’s fighting. From my perspective, she’s still a teenager, she’s been pregnant allegedly to one of the players, she’s had group sex with them and she doesn’t look that old, so I wonder what the players were thinking.”
Justice Marshall has ordered the teenager, Sam Gilbert and St Kilda to attend mediation before January 28. The teenager says she wants to be a spokeswoman for women who feel used and abused by footballers.
But then she says that if she had her time over, she would have released the nude images anonymously to avoid such scrutiny. She says her parents have stopped speaking to her since she released the photographs online last Monday while the family was on holiday at the Gold Coast. “I guess they knew this was going to happen.”
She describes herself as “an immature 17-year-old”, and perhaps she is. Certainly she misjudged how her parents would react to her decision to publish the photos. “I thought my mum would be proud of me for, you know, standing up for other girls and stuff,” she says.
But when The Sunday Age phoned the mother, all she said was: “I’m not interested in talking, OK.” Then she hung up.
Where does that leave the teen? She plans to start a journalism degree in February. But after Friday’s court appearance she sits alone on a park bench in William Street, playing with her phone. “I don’t know where to go from here,” she says.
By midnight she has found her way, tweeting that she is “so juiced up” on a “big nite out”. Then at 6.30am yesterday she thinks better of it, replacing it with another tweet: “chrissy with da parents todaii xxx”.

A TEEN who has released explicit photos of St Kilda players Nick Riewoldt, Zac Dawson and Nick Dal Santo on the internet says she plans to upload at least a dozen more, despite a court order forbidding it.
The girl, a jilted former lover of another Saint, is threatening to release a “scrapbook” of damaging images and text messages.
She has vowed to continue posting images each day until the police force her to stop.
The Herald Sun has been told the photos were obtained from a player’s computer.
But the girl denies it, saying she took them in a Melbourne hotel room this year.
The Federal Court yesterday issued an order restraining the girl and Facebook from posting more photos. It applies until a hearing on December 23.
The girl, now 17, said she had been unaware of the order until told by the Herald Sun, but vowed to defy it.
“I’m going to put on some new ones (photos) tomorrow and more the next day,” she said.
“My credibility was gone out the window the moment this all came out.
“I’m a 17-year-old girl. I can’t take on an AFL club, I can’t take on St Kilda. I can’t take on the AFL.
“I’ve had so many court orders placed against me.”
The girl claimed this year she had become pregnant to an AFL star after meeting players at a school clinic. An investigation followed.
She has since vainly attempted to sell the photos.
In red lettering across the photos she posted, she wrote “Merry Christmas, Courtesy of The St Kilda Schoolgirl”.
She told the Herald Sun yesterday she wanted to exact revenge on St Kilda and the AFL over her treatment.
“It’s because I hate the AFL and I hate St Kilda,” she said.
“Words can’t describe how I feel. I have 19 more photos … They will be all up by the end of this week. I just want revenge. I want them to know what it’s like to have your reputation destroyed.”

The players are stupid, in this day and age when their every move is under the microscope why would you do something so idiotic
As for the girl She is a vengeful sick individual who clearly needs help.
Having said that she needs to grow up and start taking some responsibility for her own actions and stop playing the “I’m only a school girl” line because she knows exactly what she is doing – blaming the everyone else for her ills and refusing to accept responsibility

She was 16 when she met them. Young, naive, taken advantage of because of it. Treated like garbage as most women do when lawyers and clubs gang up on you. If she’s bitter and twisted, she might have some reason to feel that way. Stupid, dumb, yes, but I have a bit of an inkling she’s been through a bit of hell for her young years. She’ll soon grow up when she’s faced with law suits. The players will go on with their lives and we’ll all soon forget about it, as seems to happen when there’s scandals with celebs.

They’ll move on with their privates all over the web.
Putting this maniacal teen aside for a second, for a skipper of an AFL club to put himself in this position (in front of a camera with your team mate holding a condom next to your bits) is downright embarrassing.
The Saints players would be feeling as stupid as fk right now.
I mean how dumb can you be??

I understand all that FNM. Although I am not convinced about the young naive bit to be honest.
She isnt the first person who’s (possibly) had a tough time of it in he 17 years and she wont the last. It still doesn’t excuse what she’s doing and the hurt she is causing to innocent people here.
I dont give a poo about the players they deserve all the embarassment taht comes thier way for their stupidity but they are other people here that are getting hurt because this vengeful little brat and that’s what I have an issue
with
I heard in part her interview on 5AA she didn’t come across as someone who’s been hard done by – she just came across as venegeful, uncaring teenager who thinks the world owes her something

Three more women come forward claiming ADF sex abuse cover-ups after webcam scandal
Female cadet told to say sorry
The woman at the centre of the defence sex scandal was reportedly told to apologise for going public.
Commodore Bruce Kafer has described the ADF’s initial handling of a sex scandal where a cadet was filmed having sex without consent as an “error of judgment”.

A FEMALE Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) cadet has been fined and confined to base, in a manner which creates the impression she’s being punished for speaking out about sexual abuse, Defence Minister Stephen Smith says.

12.04am Three more women have come forward claiming sex abuse cover-ups by the Australian Defence Force. One says she was filmed and assaulted while naked and unconscious when she was a 17-year-old first-year naval cadet at HMAS Cerberus in Westernport Bay in 2001.
Another woman alleged she was sexually assaulted at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra by a third-year cadet in 1989 and that several of his peers paid money to watch.

6.49pm Former sailor Derek Sheppard has voiced his support for the 18-year-old academy student at the centre of the webcam sex scandal.
Mr Sheppard told the Seven network he attempted suicide after he was pack-raped by six sailors and the military needed to change the way they dealt with allegations.
“I just hope the military get their act together and stop brushing things under the carpet,” he said.
4.45pm Liberal backbencher Nick Minchin has issued a statement in support of embattled Commodore Bruce Kafer, in the wake of Defence Minister Stephen Smith’s refusal to express confidence in the ADFA commandant:
“He is a professional officer doing a tough job.”
3.03pm Senior military figures are privately furious over Defence Minister Stephen Smith’s public attacks on Defence’s handling of the webcam sex scandal.
Mr Smith today repeatedly refused to express confidence in the head of the Australian Defence Force Academy and took the extraordinary step of endorsing an 18-year-old cadet’s decision to go public with allegations of misconduct against fellow cadets.
He also blasted Defence for hauling the “distressed’ woman – who says she was secretly broadcast by webcam having sex as six cadets watched in another room – before an unrelated disciplinary hearing yesterday.
The national defence lobby branded Mr Smith’s conduct “unfair and quite disappointing”, saying ADFA commandant Bruce Kafer was being wrongly pre-judged.

1.24pm A former officer at the Australian Defence Force Academy has come forward with allegations of predatory sexual behaviour and cover-ups at the elite college.
“I had a cadet in my actual division who was actually stalking and harassing another first-year female,” the ex officer said today.
“He blatantly lied to me and my divisional sergeant.
“I asked for action to be taken against him in the way of formal charges. They wouldn’t do it.”
1.12pm Defence Force chief has reacted to claims the ADF was not dealing with the latest sex scandal, claiming the situation had been taken “very seriously right from the start”.
Air Chief Marshal Houston said federal police were called in the day after Defence was notified of the incident on April 1.
12.28pm A woman who says a commanding officer allegedly told her young niece to “suck it up” after she was raped while training at the Australian Defence Force academy told the ABC there was a “boy’s club” culture and a belief that “women shouldn’t have been there”.
“If you persisted in being there then you had to deal with the consequences of the way they acted,” she said. “It’s absolutely disgraceful and it’s such a waste of taxpayer money and I can tell you she was not the only one.”
She said her niece ended up leaving the army.
“When she was in hospital she met a young girl who had been raped twice and she was still continuing because her life’s dream was to be in the army.”
12.22pm Defence Minister Stephen Smith is reserving judgment on the head of the Australian Defence Force Academy over his handling of a sex scandal. Mr Smith says he’ll wait until he’s come to his own conclusion on the issues he’s raised.
12.05pm Scant information provided by Defence led Federal Police to advise initially that no offence was committed in the Defence cadet sex scandal. Australian Federal Police commissioner Tony Negus said the original information provided by Defence to police related to a very bare set of circumstances.
“That advice that was provided by defence didn’t really fully comprehend the magnitude of what we now know to be the case,” Mr Negus said.
11.50am Defence Minister Stephen Smith acknowledged more needed to be done to improve the treatment of women in the workplace. But he said the ADF was not the only workplace facing the issue.
“Just go to your nearest rugby league or Australian rules football club to know some of the difficulties other organisations have had,” Mr Smith said.
11.39am Mr Smith scotched early reports that senior Defence officers ordered the female cadet to apologise for going to the media with her story and that she did not receive immediate counselling.
“I have very strong advice that all of the counselling and support was provided to her from day one and also very strong advice that the public assertion which is being made, that she was asked to apologise or humiliate herself … did not occur.”
11.27am Mr Smith flags a broader review of “systemic” problems in the Defence establishment.
11.10am A Brisbane woman says a commanding officer told her young niece to “suck it up” after she was raped while training at the Australian Defence Force academy.
10.49am Defence Minister Stephen Smith says the Commandant of the ADFA, Commodore Bruce Kafer, had acknowledged a major error of judgement in allowing an unrelated disciplinary matter to proceed at this time.
The charges, relating to alcohol consumption and being absent without leave in March, were dealt with yesterday, with the 18-year-old fined a day’s pay and restricted to base for five days.
The action comes as the ADF and federal police investigate allegations that consensual sex between the female cadet and a male student was broadcast, without her knowledge, to six other defence members watching in another room.
“Now that I have access to the full facts and circumstances, it is quite clear that at precisely the same moment that the young woman was advised of the Skype (sex scandal) incident, she was charged with these matters,” Mr Smith told ABC TV today.
“I regard that … as being somewhere from completely insensitive to completely stupid.”
Mr Smith said that action now coloured the entire view of what happened.
“It’s very easy now to make the assertion that this was done in response to the other investigation,” he said.
“I could not be stronger in my response that double tracking those two processes was a most serious error of judgement and that unfortunately not only now colours my view of events, but colours the public’s view of events.”
The Defence Minister said Commodore Kafer acknowledged that he was aware of these matters and that it was a serious error of judgement by him.
Mr Smith said he received advice late last night that the woman was immediately provided appropriate counselling and other support.
He had been advised that Commodore Kafer did not demand she apologise for going to the media.
Mr Smith said he had to reflect carefully on whether this indicated a systemic problem and, if it did, what needed to be done.
“There are now, regrettably, two issues,” the minister said.
“There is a very serious issue which is the subject of a criminal investigation.
“There is also now a very serious issue of the way in which this matter has been handled.”
Defence cadet ‘targeted’
The 18-year-old female Defence cadet who claimed a sexual encounter with another student was broadcast to other cadets says she is now the target of a slur campaign.
The cadet, who has been given the name “Kate”, has told friends she is being verbally abused with taunts of “slut” from fellow students at the nation’s elite military university.
The Australian Defence Force Academy student went public claiming a consensual sex act between her and a first-year army cadet was beamed via Skype into a nearby room where six other male cadets watched.
Still images of the romp were also distributed by the males using a mobile phone.
After raising the matter with the ADFA Commandant, highly decorated navy officer Commodore Bruce Kafer, “Kate” feared that it would be covered up, so she contacted the media.
It is believed he did not offer her counselling or any support when they first met.
Recruitment to take a battering
The ability of the Australian Defence Force to attract talented recruits has been compromised by the latest sex scandal, The Age said today.
It said that in the wake of an inquiry that confirmed female whistleblowers complaints of drunken sexual misconduct aboard HMAS Success, a Defence Force Academy cadet says that footage of her having sex with a fellow trainee was broadcast to his mates.
The paper said that the 8000 women in the ADF are entitled to the same respect as the men.
“Bastardisation of male recruits has long been condemned, but life in the military can be even tougher for women,” The Age said.
It said the Defence chiefs cannot tolerate sexism and harassment if they are to attract better recruits able to meet 21st century military needs.
“Public perceptions are a huge obstacle to recruitment of women,” the paper said.
“Those who do enlist should not have cause to regret it because of their gender.
“Decency and the nation’s defence demand better.”

UDPATE 7.20pm: THE Defence Force cadet who was secretly filmed having sex was reportedly told she would have to make a speech apologising for her decision to go public.
Yesterday, the 18-year-old student told Channel Ten she had been secretly filmed while having sex with another student. The film was broadcast a group of cadets watching nearby.
A first-year army cadet at the nation’s elite military academy faces serious charges and the sack over the incident.
The woman met with ADFA commandant Bruce Kafer last night.
She was offered no counselling and told she would have to give a speech to her colleagues apologising for humiliating them by going to the media, Ten reported.
The speech was cancelled at the last minute for fear it would fuel the anger directed at the woman by fellow cadets, the network said.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Stephen Smith has slammed a decision by Defence to hold a disciplinary hearing against the woman.
Mr Smith said he was deeply concerned about a decision to hold a hearing today into a separate matter of drinking and absenteeism when she was clearly in a distressed state.
“Today, at 11am, the young woman concerned was subject to a hearing under the defence disciplinary proceedings,” Mr Smith told Sky News.
“This related to events in March which were suggestions or allegations of being absent without leave and drinking.”
Mr Smith said the decision to persist with the hearing could be deemed “completely stupid”.
“I very strongly believe that the holding of such a hearing today, in the aftermath of these events, is not only inappropriate, insensitive and wrong – it’s almost certainly faulty at law,” Mr Smith said.
The woman said she was happy to go ahead with the previously scheduled proceedings and then pleaded guilty, Mr Smith said.
But Mr Smith said he wanted the conviction quashed and had spoken to Chief of Defence, Air Marshal Angus Houston, about the matter.
“On her own admission she is in a deeply distressed state,” he said.
Commenting earlier today on the webcam scandal, Mr Smith said defence force personnel need to be able to trust their colleagues.
“In those circumstances I can’t think of a greater betrayal of trust of a colleague in the workplace than the suggestions that have been made,” he said.
“Once that trust is destroyed then it is very difficult if not impossible for the person who has broken that trust to remain a defence force personnel member.”
Defence has been rocked by yet another sex scandal at its officer nurseries where women have been the subject of serial harassment and abuse over the years.
The soldier, a student at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), allegedly met the woman in his room last Tuesday night.
She claims she was unaware that in a nearby room six other male cadets, from all three services, had gathered around a computer screen for a live performance.
Footage of their tryst were allegedly beamed live via webcam into the room full of blokes.
According to the unidentified woman, who Network Ten named “Kate”, still images were also taken and distributed.
She has been unable to mix freely with other cadets following the incident.
Earlier, Commodore Kafer said both Defence and the ACT Police were investigating the matter and if found guilty the soldier’s career would be over.”
“If the perpetrators or those alleged to have been involved are found guilty of a crime, this could result in termination of their military careers,” Commodore Kafer said.
“Kate” told Ten that the incident made her physically ill because she had trusted the guy. She said she would stick with her air force career.
“You see it on the TV and you read it in the papers that these things happen but until it happens to you, you don’t actually believe that these things happen,” she said.
“Now I have to deal with, ‘is that her?’.”
The woman contacted Ten because she was concerned that the men involved would just get a slap on the wrist and thing would be done.
The scandal coincides with a push by Defence to recruit more women into the Australian Defence Force.
There are just two female two-star officers, seven one-stars and 30 colonel equivalents and in 2011 there are 284 more women working in Defence than last year.
Defence has a zero tolerance policy on sexual harassment and criminal behaviour but its female participation rate stands at just 14.5 per cent.
Channel 10 was provided with exclusive access to Commodore Kafer and the woman was interviewed in her uniform by reporter and Army Reserve public affairs officer Matt Moran.
Captain Moran served in Afghanistan as the lead public affairs officer for Defence during 2009.
A defence spokesman said Moran had no contact with Defence public affairs regarding the story.
Defence would not provide any further details because the investigation was on-going.

An acting head of construction has been appointed, Dan Flemming, who was until now the company’s general manager of construction, design and planning, a spokeswoman said.
“We are disappointed with his decision to resign as he was a valuable member of the leadership team,” the spokeswoman said.
“We wish him all the best for the future.”
This comes after the Government business enterprise last week “indefinitely” suspended tendering for construction firms, saying the 14 quotes they were presented were inflated.
According to the NBN Co website, Mr Flannigan was the founding managing director and chief executive of Service Stream, a major provider of infrastructure, construction and maintenance services to the telecommunications sector and broader utilities sectors.
He also founded and was non-executive chairman of Australasian Maintenance Services Company and has held general manager and senior management positions in publicly listed contract labour company Skilled Group.
